Rebel News LIVE! 2024 Toronto

The most provocative, freedom-oriented conference in Canada is coming back to Toronto on Friday, May 10 and Saturday, May 11.

As Canadians, we are under threat of government overreach, our schools and sports are being flooded with woke gender ideology, and our independent journalists and conservative voices are under attack.

While our government seeks to limit freedom of speech and the free exchange of ideas, Rebel News is more committed than ever to ensuring that compelling ideas and thought leaders with interesting perspectives continue to have a platform.

Robbie Picard is driven by his passionate belief in truth – including telling the truth about the tremendous benefits the oil sands industry has brought to Alberta, and all of Canada.

Whether as a key element of the “I (heart) Oil Sands” movement or “Oil Sands Strong”, the brand he independently created, Robbie has invested time, money, and hard work in not just defending but also promoting the Alberta oil sands industry. Fearless when confronting misinformation, Robbie has boldly challenged oil sands detractors from Neil Young to Jane Fonda. The video of Robbie confronting Fonda has been viewed around the world and set the stage for dialogue on the role celebrities should – or should not – play when industry and environment meet.

Robbie has been invited to speak across Canada as he continues his oil sands advocacy; he is a trusted advisor to many in the industry and acts as a connector between the oil sands and a world that remains reliant on oil production. His ardent and articulate defense of the industry has resulted in national media attention ranging from The Rebel to CBC.

The Oil Sands Strong movement encompasses Canadians of every demographic and revolves around Robbie’s ardent belief in an industry that has become integral to the Canadian economy, quality of life, and future success.

Amanda Achtman was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, with mountains, cowboys, and entrepreneurs for inspiration. She studied liberal arts and political theory in her hometown. After making a viral political parody video, she moved to Toronto to do a mix of journalism, crowdfunding, and advocacy in defense of Canadians' fundamental freedoms.

Living the alternation between action and contemplation, she then went to Poland to pursue a master's degree in John Paul II Philosophical Studies. Upon returning to Canada, she served as the senior advisor to a member of parliament working to prevent the expansion of euthanasia to persons living with a disability or mental illness.

Recently, Amanda lived in Rome where she studied the resurrection of the dead throughout Jewish tradition in a Licentiate Program in Judaic Studies and Jewish-Christian Relations offered by the Pontifical Gregorian University. Amanda works with Canadian Physicians for Life on ethics education and cultural engagement. She is a 2023-2024 NextGEN Fellow at Cardus and a 2023-2024 at the Tikvah Fund.

Determined to protect human life, Amanda's current priority is preventing euthanasia and encouraging hope through the Dying to Meet You Project
